WORKSHOP
The Department of Economics invites you to the workshop "Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium (DSGE) Modeling in Practice:
The New Keynesian Framework in Matlab" which will take place on 3 December and time 15:00-18:00,
at Kosmas Psychopedi Hall (416), at the Gryparion Hall (1 Sofokleous, Athens, 4th floor).
- Presenter:
Vasiliki Dimakopoulou, Assistant Professor of Macroeconomics at the Department of Economics, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens
- Abstracts:
This seminar provides a practical introduction to the construction and solution of Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium (DSGE) models using the basic micro-founded New Keynesian framework as a benchmark example. The session begins by outlining the core structure of the model-household, firms, fiscal and monetary authorities-highlighting how these components interact to generate macroeconomic dynamics.
Participants will then learn how to translate the theoretical model into a computable form using Dynare within MATLAB, covering model specification, calibration, and simulation of impulse responses. The seminar aims to equip attendees with a clear understanding of both the economic intuition and the practical tools required for applied DSGE analysis.
