The Department of Economics of the School of Economics of the University of Athens foν 6o Panhellenic Student Competition in Economics and the 8th International Economics Olympiad 2025!
It is with great pleasure and pride that the Department of Economics and Business Administration of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens participated as a co-organizer in the 6th Panhellenic Student Competition of Economics 2025, an important initiative that aims to promote economic literacy and cultivate the knowledge of high school students in economics.
This competition, which is under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, is the result of the close cooperation between the Department of Economics of the University of Athens and the Department of Economics of the University of Thessaly.
The 6th Panhellenic Student Competition in Economics consists of three phases, which have already been successfully completed. The third and last phase, called "ARISTOTELES", was held in person on Sunday 9 March 2025, in two different locations: in Athens, at the premises of the Department of Economics of the University of Athens, and in Volos, at the premises of the Department of Economics of the University of Thessaly, in order to facilitate the participation of students from all over the country.
The Scientific and Organising Committee of the competition, the Thematic Committee and the Evaluation Committee of the 6th Panhellenic Economics Competition 2025, faculty members from the two university institutions actively participated. For the Department of Economics of the University of Athens, the members of the above committees are the President of the Department, Professor Stelios Kotsios, Assistant Professor Frago Kuranti and Assistant Professor Pantelis Kostis. The members of the above committees will also be responsible for the preparation of the students who excelled in the competition and will represent Greece in the 8th International Economics Olympiad 2025, which this year will be hosted in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
