Doctoral Studies Programme of the Department of Economics
The Doctoral Studies Programme of the Department of Economics (TOE), of the Faculty of Economics and Political Sciences of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, offers high quality research work, contributing scientifically to all areas of economics as well as to specific areas of other sciences directly related to economics.
The doctoral theses of the TOE cover a wide range of subjects and are supervised by faculty members of the Department or other distinguished colleagues from other Departments, as required by law. Doctoral candidates are required to take a certain number of preparatory courses, if this has not been done in their postgraduate studies, as well as research seminars. It is the policy of the Department that Doctoral Candidates are considered affiliated with the Department, participating in all its academic and scientific functions.
For the award of the doctoral degree, the presentation of the doctoral candidates' work at conferences or publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals is considered necessary. Doctoral candidates of the Department are distinguished scientifically and professionally both in our country and internationally, occupying academic or senior management positions in universities, banks, organizations, large private companies, etc.
In this web space, the PhD theses in progress are presented, as well as the PhD candidates with short biographies. It is also posted, linked to the National Documentation Centre, where all theses completed in previous years are deposited.
