Strengthening the extroversion of the NKUA Branch in Cyprus through strategic partnerships.
In the context of the outreach activities of the Branch of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) in Cyprus and in view of the start of the undergraduate study programs of the Department of Economics and the Department of Business and Organizational Management in September 2026, the Dean of the School of Economics and Political Sciences, Professor Nikolaos Iriotis, and the President of the Department of Economics, Professor Giorgos Dotsis, held a series of meetings with leading businesses and professional bodies in Cyprus.
The aim of the meetings was to develop strategic partnerships that will strengthen the connection of the School of Economics and Political Sciences with the labor market and create meaningful opportunities for students of the School's Departments. In particular, the granting of scholarships, the development of internship programs, the creation of part-time and full-time programs for students and graduates, the implementation of joint educational and professional actions, as well as the development of broader partnerships in the fields of education, research and vocational training were discussed.
Within the framework of these initiatives, a series of meetings were held with representatives of Deloitte Cyprus, Grant Thornton Cyprus, EY Cyprus, Baker Tilly Cyprus, KPMG Cyprus, ACCA and ICAEW.
The contacts took place in a particularly positive atmosphere, confirming the strong interest of businesses and professional organizations in collaborating with the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The discussions highlighted a common will to develop initiatives that will offer students more opportunities for professional development and meaningful connections with the labor market.
These initiatives strengthen the University's international presence and contribute to the creation of a dynamic academic environment that connects academic excellence with the needs of the modern economy and labor market in Cyprus.
