in the Distance Learning, One-Year Postgraduate Program
"Quantitative Investing"
The Postgraduate Studies Programme "Quantitative Investment" of the Department of Economics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens announces the start of the submission of candidacy applications for the new academic year 2026-2027.
PURPOSE AND SPECIALIZATIONS OF THE MSC
The Program aims to train specialized scientific personnel who will be able to solve complex problems in Finance, Risk Analysis and Real Estate Investment & Appraisal, based on the most modern quantitative tools and analysis techniques from Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analysis and Computer Science.
The Program starts at the end of September 2026, is offered entirely remotely and leads to a Postgraduate Diploma in one of the following specializations:
✔ Mathematical Finance and Risk Analysis
The basic philosophy of the Mathematical Finance and Risk Analysis specialization is to provide modern and specialized expertise in investment management, combining mathematical
financial theory and data-driven methodologies. The updated curriculum integrates theory with intensive labs in Python, R and MATLAB, leveraging Machine/Deep Learning,
multivariate methods (PCA, Factor Analysis, regularization), time series analysis (ARMA/VAR, GARCH), stochastic processes, optimization, derivative valuation and Monte Carlo for Risk Analytics & Simulation.
✔ Real Estate Investment and Appraisal
The Real Estate Investment and Appraisal specialization approaches in a multidimensional manner the aspects of economic theory, financial techniques and modern quantitative methods of processing and analyzing real estate data related to the development and analysis of Real Estate investments. In close collaboration with specialized consultants in the Real Estate sector, it offers documented academic expertise in the rapidly evolving Real Estate industry.

CANDIDATE SELECTION PROCEDURE
The evaluation process includes two stages:
1. In the first stage, the candidates' applications are evaluated based on the information contained in the application file.
2. In the second stage, the selected candidates are invited to an interview. The interviews are conducted online via Webex.
The evaluation of candidates and the offer of places in the Program takes place gradually throughout the application period and in order of priority.
