ANNOUNCEMENT OF ACCOUNTING COURSES FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION & ORGANIZATIONS

In the spring semester of the current academic year, the following courses of the Undergraduate Program of Studies of the Department of Business and Organizational Administration are offered to students of the Department of Economics.

 

Auditing Accounting

The main objective of the course is to introduce students to the fundamental concepts and principles of auditing, on which modern auditing practice is based. The focus is on the presentation and analysis of the principles that govern a series of decisions that external auditors make during the audit of a company's financial statements. At the same time, the aim of the course is to analyze basic concepts related to the Internal Audit process.

International Accounting Standards / International Financial Reporting Standards

The purpose of the course is to understand the institutional framework for the application of IAS / IFRS, so that after its completion, participants will have an overall picture and knowledge of the most basic accounting issues covered by the standards. They are expected to be able to choose between treatments that are acceptable by the standards, as well as to apply accounting treatments in practice for a number of basic but also more specialized issues. The course also aims to develop an understanding of the discretion that exists in the application of IAS / IFRS, as well as the main challenges and difficulties in their application in practice for a number of accounting issues.

Accounting Information Systems

The course is an introduction to accounting information systems (AIS). It presents the operation of an AIS from the perspective of an accountant working within a computerized accounting system. It also provides basic knowledge regarding basic computerized accounting issues, the design of an AIS and the management of databases relevant to the monitoring of accounting processes.
