GOVERNING BODIES

Governing bodies of the Department and the Chair

According to Article 28 of Law 4957/2022, the governing bodies of the Department of Economics are the Department Assembly, the Board of Directors, the Chair, and the Deputy of the Department

The Assembly consists of: 

  1. Faculty members of the Department
  2. The Chair and Deputy of the Department, together with the Directors of the Sectors
  3. Student representatives (undergraduate and postgraduate) in the proportion of 15% of the total number of Assembly members. 
  4. 3 representatives, one for each category of Special Teaching Staff, Laboratory Teaching Staff, Special Technical Laboratory Staff.

The Department Assembly is legally constituted and may operate even if the representatives referred to in points 3 and 4 have not been elected.

The Chair of the Department is elected every 3 years by the Professors, convenes the Assembly, chairs its proceedings and heads the Department's services.

For the three-year period 2025-2028, Professor George Dotsis is the Chairman of the Department and Professor Ioannis Leventidis is the Deputy.
