Short biography Professor Emeritus of the Department of Economics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He studied economics (degree-1969) at the Athens University of Economics and Business (formerly ASOEE) and holds a Master of Arts (M.A.-1971) from the State University of New York and a Ph.D. from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. Lecturer, Laurentian University, Ontario, Canada, Department of Economics (1971-72), Lecturer, University of Edinburgh, Scotland, Department of Business Studies (1973-84).
Professor at the Technical University of Crete, General Department (1984-90) and vice-president of the Governing Board of the Technical University of Crete (1986-89). He served as scientific director of KEPE (1994-1997), member of the Monetary Policy Council of the Bank of Greece (1998-2006) and member of the Scientific Council of the Hellenic Parliament (2004-2012).
