Michalis Riginos is Professor Emeritus of the Department of Economics, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where he has been teaching Economic and Social History since 1991. In 1977, he graduated from the Department of Economics of the Athens University of Economics and Business and subsequently studied Economic and Social History at the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne, where he defended his doctoral thesis. During the period 1987-1991, he worked as a researcher at the Historical Archive of the National Bank of Greece. From 2013 to 2018, he served as a member of the Scientific Committee at the State Budget Office in the Parliament. From 2020 to 2026, he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Center for Planning and Economic Research (K.P.E.). His current research interests concern the history of the Athens Stock Exchange during the period 1880-2000. He teaches the courses Greek Economic History I 19th century - 1940 (A semester) and Economic History topics 16th-20th century (B semester) He has published more than 40 articles in academic journals and has edited 4 books. |
