STUDENT ASSOCIATION
Since the 1960s, the Students' Association of the Law School, in which the students of economics were members, has been operating. From the very first moments of its creation, it was present in every critical battle of the youth and the student movement, and managed to establish itself as one of the strongest and most important of the University.
The struggles of the generation of 114, 15% for Education and the heroic act of resistance and the beginning of the fall of the junta, the occupation of the Law School in '73, mark the political and social character of his action. Firmly oriented to the principles of democracy, social justice, national independence and popular sovereignty, as expressed in the statutes of the EFEE, the students of the Department of Economics intervene with their struggle, resisting every anti-social and anti-academic policy.
After the post-independence period, a separate association of the students of the Economics Department of the Law School was founded, which today is the students' association of the TOE of NOPE.
The Association has an important scientific presence, organising debates and events on various economic and social issues.
Useful information:
- Every student of the Department is considered a member of the Association.
- There are no financial obligations from its members - The Association is governed by a 9-member Board of Directors, which is formed after the student elections held every year.
- The highest guiding body of the Association is the General Assembly of students.
- All members have the right to participate in the proceedings, without exception, as well as all types and orientations of political groups (except those of a fascist or extreme right-wing nature - according to the statutes of the EFEE of which the Association is a member).
- Student representatives who participate in the administrative bodies of the University (Senate, Board of Governors, General Assembly of the Department and sectors) are elected through the procedures of the Association.
- Student representatives in the administrative bodies of the department actively participate in the formulation of the curriculum and in all decisions related to studies.
PARTICIPATION IN EUROPEAN PROGRAMMES
The Department collaborates with universities abroad in the framework of the Socrates/Erasmus Programme. Students of the Department are given the opportunity to move to the partner universities and to study there for one semester, having at the same time the possibility to be recognized for those courses in which they will be successfully examined.
Student applications for participation are submitted during the current academic year for the following year.
Interested students can get more information at the following link ERASMUS, CIVIS
For foreign students from foreign universities studying at the Department, some courses are offered in English as well as in small tutorial groups. Courses in English can be attended by students of the Department. These courses for the current academic year are described in Appendix B of the Study Guide.
