Panhellenic student economics competition

The Department of Economics of the National University of Athens in collaboration with the Department of Economics of the University of Thessaly are organizing the Panhellenic Student Economics Competition which leads to International Economics Olympiad and, for those who receive a medal, admission to tertiary education.

Who is it addressed to?

The Panhellenic Student Economics Competition is held in three phases and students from 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of high school can participate.

Why should students participate in the Competition?

The Competition aims to provide a substantial deepening of the concepts of Economics and to cultivate a documented understanding of developments in the market, the stock exchanges, and the Greek and international economy.

Through their participation, students become familiar with the way of thinking of the modern economist and gain the opportunity for meaningful academic interaction with educators and academics.

Finally, the winners have the opportunity to represent the country at the International Economics Olympiad, where they come into contact with top students and distinguished scientists in the field.

Members of the Scientific - Organizing Committee, Topics Committee & Evaluation Committee of the Panhellenic Economics Competition from the Department of Economics of the National University of Athens are Professor Stylianos Kotsios (skotsios@econ.uoa.gr), Associate Professor Frango Kouranti (fkourandi@econ.uoa.gr) and Assistant Professor Pantelis Kostis (pkostis@econ.uoa.gr).
