On Tuesday, October 6, 2026, the reception of new students of the School of Economics and Political Sciences of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens - Cyprus Branch took place in Nicosia.<\/p>\n

This day marked the beginning of the academic year and, at the same time, the opening of the Department of Economics and the Department of Business and Organizational Administration of the National University of Cyprus.<\/p>\n

The event was addressed by the Rector of the University of Athens, Professor Gerasimos Siassos, the Vice-Rector for Economics and Development, Professor Aristides Samitas, as well as the Dean of the School of Economics and Political Sciences, Professor N. Iriotis, the President of the Department of Economics, Professor G. Dotsis, the President of the Department of Business and Organizational Administration, Professor G. Sfakianakis, and the Executive Director of the University of Athens, Dr. Eleni Vasilopoulou.<\/p>\n

The opening of the Department of Economics in Cyprus is an important milestone for the extroversion and expansion of the academic presence of the National University of Cyprus, creating new opportunities for education, scientific cooperation and interconnection with the Cypriot academic and economic community.<\/p>\n

The Department of Economics warmly welcomes its first male and female students to the Cyprus Branch and wishes them a good start, good progress and every success in their studies.<\/p>\n
