The Department of Economics has three Computer Labs equipped with high-performance workstations with fast processors, sufficient RAM and graphics cards capable of supporting demanding software such as programming languages and analytical and data science tools. The workstations are connected to the internet with high speeds and Wi-Fi coverage. At the heart of teaching are high-resolution projectors, interactive whiteboards, as well as live broadcast and teaching recording support systems for hybrid learning and online seminars.
\nThe Informatics Laboratories operate under the responsibility of the Department of Mathematics-Informatics and Statistics-Econometrics.<\/p>\n

The Laboratory Marseille<\/strong>: It has 37 computers with i5-9500 processor, 8GB RAM 256GB SSD.

The Laboratory Euripides<\/strong>: It has 23 computers with i7 processors and 16GB RAM.<\/p>\n

The Laboratory Sinai<\/strong>: It has 25 computers with i7 processors and 16GB RAM.<\/p>\n

\nThe laboratory workstations are equipped with a Windows Operating System (10 or 11) as well as open source and commercial software such as: Libre Office, MS Office, Matlab, Python, R, R Studio, PostgeSQL, Weka, etc.<\/p>\n

Students receive laboratory training both within the context of Computer Science courses and within the context of other courses.<\/p>\n

The students' laboratory training includes:
\n\u2022 quantitative analysis methods using Excel (course code LAB201 of CSC201)
\n\u2022 useful cloud services, research tools and collection of statistical results, searches in scientific databases and searches of scientific articles with instructions for the correct use of bibliography, familiarization with popular Operating Systems, creation of blogs (in the context of the CSC202 course laboratory)
\n\u2022 Big Data, big data management technologies, information retrieval and familiarity with Relational Databases and the SQL language (as part of the LAB301 laboratory that accompanies the CSC301 course)
\n\u2022 Creation of websites using the open source CMS Joomla within the framework of the LAB403 laboratory and introduction to data mining and machine learning through the corresponding thematic modules of the CSC403 course
\n\u2022 Teaching programming principles, data structures and working with files and data using the Python language (CSC302 course)
\n\u2022 The laboratories are used for the laboratory training of students in the context of courses such as Linear Mathematics (MTH301), Time Series Analysis (QNT402), Applied Operations Research and Mathematical Programming Techniques (QNT401, QNT303), E-Governance and E-Business (SKL301, SKL302), Accounting IV (ACC401), Statistics, etc.<\/p>\n

The equipment of all laboratories is maintained, expanded and upgraded with the aim of offering our students the most efficient and powerful laboratory environment possible.
\nAs living nuclei of education and research, the IT labs combine cutting-edge technology with ergonomics, offering an environment that inspires creativity and critical thinking.
