Delopoulou<\/p>\n<p>The course is available on eclass at<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/eclass.uoa.gr\/courses\/ECON110\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">http:\/\/eclass.uoa.gr\/courses\/ECON110\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The aim of the course is to understand the e-government services offered to citizens and businesses and the role played by the state.<\/p>\n<p>These courses help students to better understand and gain deeper knowledge of topics related to Economics and will help them understand the social context that is being shaped both in our country and globally.<\/p>\n<p>In the course, a student comes into contact with the basic e-government services that operate both in Greece and abroad. He also formulates a critique of them, commenting on their weaknesses and strengths. The critique is made both on a technical and on a social level with regard to the everyday life of citizens. Attending the course contributes to a better knowledge of the emerging field of e-government in Greece and it is very important for a future economist to have a complete picture of the Greek and global reality. The field of e-government is mainly related to economics, so attending the course is very important for every student of the department.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Content<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The course is interdisciplinary in nature, deals with issues of management of new information and communication technologies and helps students to better understand and gain deeper knowledge of issues related to Economics since it gives them the opportunity to understand the social context that is being shaped both in our country and globally in the field of Electronic Government. The concepts of the term electronic governance and administration, electronic democracy as well as the Strategy of Electronic Government in Europe will be analyzed. On the other hand, they will be introduced to concepts found in the field of information technology, such as the concepts of interoperability, open source software, security of electronic transactions, electronic public procurement systems and basic concepts of information systems as well as electronic government systems.
