The aim is to provide as complete and balanced a picture as possible, avoiding technical jargon and giving priority to the impacts of new technologies on the main sectors of the economy and society.<\/p>\n<p>Through selected texts, an attempt is made to understand how technological changes affect the work and lifestyle of citizens in the developing and developed world and especially in the European Union. The directions of the European Information Society are also studied, such as the networks of the future and digital convergence.
