This course examines central issues of communications and applications of Telematics. The main data transmission techniques, the elements of communications networks, as well as the forms of topologies and protocols are studied. In terms of geographical scope, local, metropolitan, and long-range networks are covered.<\/p>\n

Attention is also paid to the available Telematics services, as well as to the new ones, which require the existence and operation of wide-band digital networks. For this reason, an overview is given of the developments in the infrastructures, on which advanced services and applications are developed. Finally, policy and development initiatives from developed countries (OECD), as well as from developing ones, are explored.<\/p>\n
