Objectives - Structure of the material<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The aim of the course is to introduce students to the methods and basic tools of development finance. The course is divided into three parts.<\/p>\n

The first part of the course presents the historical evolution of the architecture of the global development finance system and the role of the international, regional and national institutions that manage it.<\/p>\n

In the second part, the main existing mechanisms and tools of development finance are developed at a theoretical and applied level, with emphasis on Leasing, Value Chain Financing, Factoring\/Forfaiting, Venture Capital, Mergers & Acquisitions, PPPs, Franchising and their contribution to the development process.<\/p>\n

The third part of the course presents the Innovative Financial Development Tools and Mechanisms with emphasis on Crowdfunding, Diaspora Bonds, GDP-linked bonds and Green Bonds and their applications internationally in the context of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).<\/p>\n

The course has an eclass.<\/p>\n

A mixed assessment system is applied with assignment(s) and classroom presentation.<\/p>\n
