Purpose:<\/strong> The theoretical and practical training of students in the field of Investment Evaluation. The course is structured in two parts:<\/p>\n

Part A:<\/h4>\n

  • Investment decisions under certainty<\/li>\n
  • Time value of money (Present & Future Value, Rand)<\/li>\n
  • Pricing of shares and bonds<\/li>\n
  • Investment evaluation criteria: NPV, IRR, Payback Period, Profitability Index, Book Value<\/li>\n
  • Management of cash flows, depreciation, interest, inflation<\/li>\n
  • Specific investment decisions (e.g. leasing)<\/li>\n
  • Financial vs Socioeconomic Evaluation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Part B:<\/h4>\n
      \n
    • Decisions under uncertainty<\/li>\n
    • Financial market efficiency (forms, measurement)<\/li>\n
    • Money & capital markets - financial instruments<\/li>\n
    • Probabilities, statistical measures (hope, standard deviation, variance)<\/li>\n
    • Valuation models: CAPM, C-CAPM, APT<\/li>\n
    • Behavioural economics & investment decision scenarios<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Evaluation:<\/strong> Mixed system with homework and classroom presentation.<\/p>\n
